Overview
Bella Sunbane is one of the three night hag sisters who operate the Old Bonegrinder windmill. Together with her mother Morgantha and sister Offalia Wormwiggle, she forms a coven of terrible power — far beyond what the party could challenge at their current strength. The sisters maintain a veneer of hospitality and transactional civility while conducting unspeakable horrors behind closed doors.
Bella was present during the party's overnight stay at the windmill in Session 11, participating in the torture and butchering of captive children while the party was bound by guest right to remain peaceful.
Hag Form

In her true form, Bella is a towering, hideous night hag — spindly and twisted, with mossy skin and features that betray her ancient, predatory nature. The sisters rarely reveal their true forms unless provoked or making a point.

Bella and her sisters form a night hag coven of devastating power. The party correctly identified they cannot fight them at their current level and need anti-magic capabilities (8th-level Abjuration) to prevent the hags from escaping to the Ethereal Plane. The coven operates legally under Strahd's seal, making any confrontation a direct challenge to his authority as well. When the party eventually returns, all three must be dealt with simultaneously or they will flee and regroup.
