Night hag disguised as an old woman. Operates the Old Bonegrinder mill. Trades in flesh pies and darker commodities. Predator of children and the desperate.
Overview
Morgantha is a night hag of ancient age and terrible power, operating the Old Bonegrinder mill under the guise of an elderly woman baker. She produces flesh pies and other baked goods for the region while secretly trafficking in darker commodities — most notably, children and the souls of the desperate. She is a predatory creature who exploits Barovia's poverty and desperation for her own gain and sustenance. She is the matriarch of a coven of three, with her daughters Bella Sunbane and Offalia Wormwiggle completing the trio.
Hag Form

In her true form, Morgantha is a towering, six-and-a-half-foot-tall night hag — spindly, mossy, and hideous, with drool dripping from her jowls. She revealed this form during the party's stay at Old Bonegrinder when Aleric attempted to negotiate for the captive children's lives. The transformation was meant to intimidate and establish dominance in the bargaining.

Morgantha is a predatory force disguised as a simple miller. Her night hag nature makes her genuinely dangerous in combat, particularly at night or in the Demiplane of Dread. Her trafficking in children and exploitation of the desperate should establish her as a moral antagonist — the party may face hard choices about how to address her. She is not someone to reason with or turn to good; she is evil incarnate. Destroying or banishing her would be a service to the region. Be prepared for potential moral ambiguity from party members who find her activities helpful or necessary in a land of starvation.
