Freek
A young boy imprisoned in the upper floors of Old Bonegrinder by Morgantha and her coven. Both of his feet were severed before the party arrived, and his remaining leg was amputated by Morgantha during failed negotiations — a deliberate act of cruelty to pressure the party into compliance. He is Myrtle's older brother.

Overview
Freek was traded to the night hags of Old Bonegrinder by his own parents in exchange for dream pastries — the addictive confections Morgantha peddles across Barovia. When the party first heard him, it was as screaming from the upper floor of the windmill. His situation deteriorated rapidly during the party's visit.
Session Appearances
Session 11 — The Windmill
The party discovered Freek's existence through his screams echoing from the upper floors of Old Bonegrinder. During Aleric's attempt to negotiate for the children's release, Morgantha responded to the failed bargaining by raising a cleaver and severing Freek's remaining leg. The sound of bone cracking while the party stood powerless was one of the session's most harrowing moments.
After the mutilation, Morgantha ordered Ophelia to wrap the stumps before he bled out. His sister Myrtle — herself missing both hands — struggled to bandage his wounds, then carried him up the stairs, her feet squelching in blood.
Ria placed a dagger on the second-floor landing as a silent mercy offering. When Myrtle passed with Freek, she saw the blade and looked at Ria with tears in her eyes — but could not use it due to her missing hands.
